Dear DGS Families,
We’ve settled back into the groove after Fall Break, and we are looking forward to conversations about student progress, growth and achievement with families Thursday night and Friday during the day. All conferences are online via Microsoft Teams. We just want to remind families that ANYTIME is the right time to connect with your child’s teachers regarding their learning and we are always happy to sit down and discuss how things are going. We have provided our system Information Technology team with feedback both as to how the conference booking system responded to families and how the weekend system outage impacted accessibility.
This week marks the conclusion of basketball season- all of our teams have played great seasons and our students from Grades 6-9 have represented DGS exceptionally well as both student athletes and spectators. We know this positive enthusiasm will carry over into Wrestling season, which is now underway.
Traffic Safety on Cranston Drive
Thank you all so much for trying so hard to be courteous and careful in our drop-off zone. Our one important request is that drivers observe the posted traffic control signs around our building, including the “No Stopping” signs that are placed 5 metres in front of each 4 Way Stop. We know that traffic is congested for two short periods of time over the day, and we know time can be tight, but parking LEGALLY a bit further away is so much safer (and so much easier to support) for our school busses, our students, and other drivers.
DGS Parent Fundraising Society
We are very excited about our upcoming Casino on December 9 and 10 at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino. We still require 4 more people to be able to cover our shifts. This is a high value fundraiser that has afforded our students access to additional chrome books, learning commons materials, and fieldtrip busses. Click here to volunteer!!
Course Fees and Lunch Supervision Registration
We have received notice that the courses that have fees associated with them have been added to your account; fees are due when assigned. Also please note: all grade 6 students that stay at school for lunch should be registered to do so.
Fees and registration can be found on your MyCBE account.
Demographic Verification Forms
These forms are legally required to be completed EVERY school year. If for some reason you are unable to complete this form, please contact the Office to make arrangements for assistance in completing this. We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Click HERE to sign-in.
