Dear DGS families

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, we encourage you to take a few moments to sit down with your child(ren) and review MyCBE / PowerSchool together. This is a great time to ensure that all assignments have been submitted and that marks accurately reflect the effort and learning your child has demonstrated. Teachers are in the process of finalizing grades, so if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to them as soon as possible.

We also want to remind families about the importance of being prepared for each school day - including bringing a lunch. A helpful tip is to prepare lunches the night before, as we know mornings can be a bit of a scramble! We are always here to support students and families facing food insecurity and provide snacks to any student who asks. However, to ensure we have enough emergency lunches available for those who truly need them, we ask for your partnership in making sure that students who are able to bring a lunch from home do so whenever possible.

As we get closer to the end of the year, it’s time for our annual great book migration back to DGS.  All library books are due back by June 13. Help us avoid any shelving drama by ensuring books make their way home...to the learning commons. Check under beds, in backpacks, and between couch cushions as our books are excellent at hide-and-seek.

Report cards will be available through MyCBE starting June 25, and access will close on July 25. Please make time during this window to review your child’s final report. As a reminder, Appeals Day will be held the afternoon of June 26 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Let’s finish strong together; there’s still meaningful learning and great memories to be made in these final weeks!
