Dear DGS families
As we move through a busy and exciting time of year, there is so much to celebrate and look forward to at Dr. George Stanley School as our students continue to show their talents, dedication, and school spirit in so many ways. Here are a few highlights from this week and a look at what’s ahead.
Firstly, congratulations to Mrs. Thomas and all of our talented student musicians for their phenomenal end-of-year performance. I’ve had the opportunity to attend many school concerts over the years, and I can honestly say this was one of the best I’ve seen. Mrs. Thomas has created a vibrant and engaging music program at DGS where students are not only learning and growing musically, but they’re clearly having fun, too. Their enthusiasm, hard work, and pride were shining through in every note. Thank you, Mrs. Thomas, for inspiring our students and building such a strong program!
Good luck to our athletes as they prepare to compete at the Track and Field Meet on June 3. We know they’ll represent DGS with energy, sportsmanship, and determination.
On Friday, June 6, we are excited to welcome future DGS students from Cranston School (Grade 4) and Sibylla Kiddle School (Grade 5). These students will spend time touring our school, guided by our amazing leadership students, and will get a sneak peek at what life is like at DGS. They’ll enjoy a special performance from our band, meet members of our staff, and participate in a Q&A session with our admin team to help them feel confident and comfortable as they prepare for middle school. We can’t wait to show them what makes DGS such a welcoming, dynamic community.
