As we look ahead to May, we are excited to recognize Asian Heritage Month—a time to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of people of Asian descent in Canada. Throughout the month, students will have opportunities in their classrooms to engage with learning experiences that deepen their understanding and appreciation of this diversity.

We ask for your support in reminding your child to keep valuable or special items at home whenever possible. This can include things like Pokémon cards, high-end sports equipment, electronics, or expensive clothing. While students often enjoy bringing these items to share with friends, they can sometimes be misplaced, lost, damaged, or go missing during the school day. Please note that the school is not responsible for personal belongings, and we want to avoid situations where a student’s day is negatively impacted because something has happened to an item that is important to them. Additionally, as more and more students are choosing to ride their bikes, scooters, or skateboards to school (which we love to see as it supports healthy, active lifestyles) please ensure that these items are properly secured in the designated areas to help keep them safe.

We also want to wish a heartfelt bon voyage to our students who will be traveling to Eastern Canada this upcoming week. We hope this experience helps bring their studies to life, fosters a deeper appreciation for the history and diversity of our country, and leaves them with lasting memories and stories to share when they return.

Finally, best of luck to our Grade 9 students participating in the badminton tournament this week. We are cheering you on and wish you a fun and successful competition!

Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and engagement in our school community.

We look forward to another amazing week of learning ahead.

Warm regards,

Chris Keuben

Please complete this form if you have a specific request for your child's next year classes or if you intend on your child attending another school in the fall.  If neither is applicable, you do not need to proceed.

Each year, teachers meet in grade teams to create homeroom classes for the upcoming school year.  Teachers take into account the academic and social needs of students as well as class size to create balanced homerooms.  This form provides an opportunity for parents to make requests for next year prior to our grade team meetings scheduled for later early in May.

If your child is currently at one of our elementary feeder schools, please contact their homeroom teacher via email to make any requests.

Requests can be submitted until noon on Friday, May 8, 2026.   As timetabling is a complex process, late requests will not be considered unless there are extenuating circumstances.   Next Year Survey | 2026-2027 – Fill out form
