Dear DGS Families,
It has been wonderful to see the return of warmer weather over the past little while. At this time of year, however, that warmer weather can be fleeting, as we often experience all four seasons in a single day! We encourage all students to come to school dressed in layers so they are comfortable and prepared for whatever Mother Nature brings.
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we value the importance of working in partnership with families to support each student’s success. As part of this process, we invite families to complete the survey below if you have a specific request for your child’s class placement for next year, or if you intend for your child to attend a different school in the fall. If neither applies to your family, there is no need to complete the survey.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge Khalsa Day, which will be celebrated on April 13, 2026. This important day in the Sikh faith marks the founding of the Khalsa in 1699 and recognizes values of equality, service, and community. We extend our warmest wishes to all students and families who are celebrating this special occasion.
We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to another amazing week of learning ahead.
Warm regards,
Chris Keuben

Next Year Survey
Please complete this form if you have a specific request for your child's next year classes or if you intend on your child attending another school in the fall. If neither is applicable, you do not need to proceed.
Each year, teachers meet in grade teams to create homeroom classes for the upcoming school year. Teachers take into account academic and social needs of students as well as class size to create balanced homerooms. This form provides an opportunity for parents to make requests for next year prior to our grade team meetings scheduled for later early in May.
If your child is currently at one of our elementary feeder schools, please contact their homeroom teacher via email to make any requests.
Requests can be submitted until noon on Friday, May 8, 2026. As timetabling is a complex process, late requests will not be considered unless there are extenuating circumstances. Next Year Survey | 2026-2027 – Fill out form
Growing Smiles Fundraiser
Did you know that our School Council Society recently donated $10,000 to DGS? This incredible contribution helped fund new auditory equipment used in our school play—giving our students the chance to shine on stage with confidence and clarity!
This wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing support of our school families through fundraisers like Growing Smiles.
Now it’s your turn to make a difference again!
Help us continue supporting our kids by ordering your spring flowers—beautiful blooms for your home while directly giving back to our school community.
Every purchase helps create more opportunities, more memories, and more moments for our students to thrive.
Order your spring flowers today and be part of something meaningful!
Orders are live now, and will be delivered May 7, just in time for Mothers day!
Deadline will be April 23.
Reverse Bottl Drive
Saturday, April 18, 10 AM until approximately 12:30 PM
DGS grade 7 students are headed to Camp Chief Hector in June, and are hosting a bottle drive. Please drop off your bottles in the DGS parking lot to help support the trip to Camp Chief Hector. The grade 7 team is thankful to all community members who are willing to support this fantastic experience!
