Dear DGS families
I’m absolutely thrilled to share that The Enchanted Bookshop, our school’s drama production, hits the stage tomorrow evening—Thursday, April 10 at 6:00 PM! This will be my first time experiencing a DGS performance, and I can’t wait to see the talent and dedication of our students come to life on stage. The play runs approximately 60–75 minutes. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy the production during the school day, and we’re excited to also welcome students from our feeder schools for a special matinee performance. Many of our own students are already planning to return in the evening to cheer on their classmates—it’s going to be a fantastic community event!
With the arrival of warmer weather, it’s been wonderful to see our bike racks and skateboard/scooter areas filling up again. We love seeing students arriving at school on wheels—it’s a great reminder of the importance of an active lifestyle. Daily physical activity has so many benefits, from boosting mood and energy to improving focus and readiness to learn. We encourage students to continue embracing active transportation whenever possible.
We would like to remind all families of the importance of road safety during busy drop-off and pick-up times. Recently, a parent witnessed a near miss involving a student crossing the street at the four-way stop, which could have had serious consequences. We have reminded students during announcements to always use designated crosswalks, make eye contact with drivers, and stay alert to traffic. We kindly ask all drivers to remain vigilant, slow down near the school, and yield to pedestrians at all crosswalks. The safety of our students is a shared responsibility, and your continued care and attention make a significant difference. Thank you for helping keep all students safe.
As we look ahead to the weekend, we also want to acknowledge and extend our best wishes to those in our school community who will be observing Palm Sunday and Passover, which begins at sundown on Saturday. May this time be meaningful for you and your families.
We hope to see you tomorrow evening for a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and community spirit!
