Dear DGS Families, 

Last Friday, during DGS Crew Time the staff played basketball against the Grade 8/9 basketball players. The student audience was amazed at the talent, energy and teamwork displayed on both sides. As a bonus, many stuffed toys were collected for the WINS Society. We are really looking forward to the next game with Grade 5/6/7 on Friday. 

Last Monday our Grade 6 students had a ski day at Winsport. Our students were great ambassadors for our school and had a wonderful time. 

Pets of DGS Calendar 

Thank you for supporting this student driven endeavor. Over 41 calendars have been purchased. Thanks to all involved in bringing this to fruition. 

A Teddy Bear Toss is Happening at DGS! 

We are asking DGS students to bring in new or gently used Teddy Bears to donate to the Women in Need Society. Teachers will be playing against the school basketball teams and the Teddy Bears will be tossed onto the floor after the first basket is scored. Grades 8 & 9 were on Dec 6th and Grades 5, 6 & 7 will be on Dec 13. Thank you for your support in collecting donations for the WINS Society. 

Toy Mountain at DGS 

The Grade 8 Leadership classes are organizing a donation drive for Toy Mountain, from December 9-19. We invite all students at DGS to bring in donations of new, unwrapped toys, games, puzzles or gift cards. These will be distributed to children throughout the city in hopes of making their holiday season brighter. Toy donations can be placed in a box beside the tree in the front foyer of the school and cash/gift cards will be accepted at the office. Thank you for supporting those less fortunate. 

Spirit Week 

Grade 7 Leadership is thrilled to be organizing our Countdown to Winter Break Spirit Events! Here are the events:     

  • Monday, Dec 16 - Ugly Xmas Sweaters 
  • Tuesday, Dec 17 - Xmas Hats and Crazy/Festive hair 
  • Wednesday, Dec 18 - Bake Sale at lunch 
  • Friday, Dec 20 - PJs 

Fees  

Our complimentary classes need to be revenue neutral. Thank you for attending to your fees in a timely fashion.

Yearbooks    

Yearbooks for 2024-25 must be PREPURCHASED prior to Feb. 14, 2025. You will need to self-add the yearbook to your account following these simple steps:    

1. Login to your MyCBE account, using your username and password    

2. Click the box “Fees, Waivers & Service Registration”     

3. Select your student    

4. Click on “School Based Optional Fees”    

5. Click on the box “Yearbook 2024/25”    

6. Click “Add to Cart” and proceed to payment
