Dear DGS families
Welcome back! We hope you had a restful and enjoyable spring break. As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we encourage students to use the valuable feedback from school conferences before the break to make any necessary adjustments to their learning. This is a great opportunity to set goals, stay engaged, and continue open communication with teachers and staff as we work toward a strong finish to the year.
We were also thrilled to welcome back our facility operator and evening cleaning staff. They did an outstanding job over the break, ensuring our school was in top shape for our students' return. A heartfelt thank you goes out to them for their dedication. It was especially touching to see the warm welcome-back messages left on our facility operator’s door—such a wonderful reflection of our school community’s appreciation for their hard work.
With the strike now over, we are excited to see the return of sports teams and performances! First up is our school production of The Enchanted Bookshop, which will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The play will run for approximately 60-75 minutes. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is $5 per person (cash only). After the production, we invite you to browse our used book sale, held in honor of the play’s theme and in support of future fine arts projects at DGS. Cash purchases only. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors—we look forward to seeing you there! DGS students will have a chance to see the play during the school day, and we know many will be back in the evening to cheer on their peers. We are also excited to host students from our feeder schools for a special matinee performance.
Badminton tryouts have also kicked off this week, and it has been fantastic to see so many students participating. The energy and enthusiasm in the gym have been incredible!
As we move forward, we look ahead to many exciting events and opportunities for students to shine. Thank you for your continued support and positivity—we are eager to finish the year strong together!
